MISSOULA – Judith Joy (Timboe, Hendrickson, Botner) Prillwitz was released from the shackles of Alzheimer's on Sunday, March 3, 2013, with her daughter Becky by her side. She was born March 2, 1935, to her loving parents Leander "Pa" Timboe, and Leona "Ma" Timboe on their farm in Pelican Township between Devils Lake and Penn, N.D., whose farm was a safe haven for all that knew and loved them.
Judy attended grade school in a rural one-room school house, and then would have to ride the train on the old Sioux Line into Devils Lake where she stayed the week in a boarding house with the other neighbor girls and her best friends while attending high school. Her father Leander never failed to meet her at the train to walk her home Friday evenings, and often with a lantern that she could watch for in the distance. This was a story that Becky reminded her of, and told Mom he was still waiting for her just before she passed peacefully.
Judy had four children from her first marriage to Merlin Howard Hendrickson. They later divorced. She was preceded in death by her first born, Steven JT Hendrickson, who was taken from us by a drunk driver, and her second husband, Ken Botner. She is survived by her daughters, Becky (Jim) Pengra, grandson, Joshua Brown; Susan (Scott) Loken, grandchildren, Gabriel, Jorunn, Magnus and Ursula; and her son, Ladd Hendrickson, grandchildren, David and Alicia. She is also survived by her brother, Leon Timboe of Devils Lake and bonus son, Bryon Botner of Fargo, N.D. Judy lived alone for many years in Missoula until she met her most loving and devoted husband Ray Prillwitz, who also preceded her in death in August, 2011.
Per Mom's wishes, no services were held. Private burial was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Garden City Funeral Home.
Judy's family would like to thank the Prillwitz family for all of their love and guidance through the horrible web of Alzheimer's.
