Obituary for Joseph A. Ricci

Joe Ricci passed away, surrounded by his children, on March 31, 2014 from complications of liver cancer.

He was born June 10, 1932 in Livingston, MT to Joseph and Josephine Ricci. He graduated from Park County High School. After graduation, Joe served in the Navy as a Sea Bee during the Korean War.

After an honorable discharge, Joe started his career as an electrician on the Northern Pacific Railroad in Livingston. He had an enjoyable 41 year career for the NP and BN Railroad.

In 1959, Joe married Luella Heidt. Three sons and a daughter were born in this union. In 1977, Joe moved the family from Livingston to Missoula. In 1993, he retired in Lolo.

Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed taking his family camping and fishing. He also enjoyed betting on and handicapping horse and dog races, as well as feasting with family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Michael and Louie, and his sister, Rose Marie.

Survivors include a sister, Grace Scanlan (Missoula); three sons, Patrick (Missoula), David (Lolo) and Michael (Fairbanks); a daughter Mary (Lee) Zeiler (Florence); grandchildren, Derek Zeiler, Grace Zeiler, Andy Ricci and Allie Ricci; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the Village Health Care Center for the wonderful care they gave to our dad.
