Joseph was born to Sheldon and Gladys Norsworthy in Fort Fairfield, Maine on August 3, 1947. He passed away October 3, 2021 at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana, following a period of declining health.
Little is known about is early years, but as soon as he was eligible Joe enlisted in the U. S. Army. He performed two tours of duty and was honorably discharged.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed ice fishing, hiking, camping and all things Montana. Joe also worked at various downtown bars, most notable The Oxford, where he felt the most at home and made many friends. He was loved by many in the downtown area where he felt a sense of “family.” Although he was unable to work in later years, he kept in contact with his friends and missed the camaraderie he had with them.
Joe was a highly intelligent man with a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold. He is greatly missed by many.
Joe was cremated and is laid to rest at the Western Montana Veteran Cemetery in Missoula. A military services and celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
