Jennie Bentham, 95, passed away at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula on Sunday, March 27, 2016.
She was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Stevensville, the daughter of Anna and Harry Gideonse. She attended grade school and high school in Stevensvllie. On June 5, 1937, she married Mark Bentham from Florence. They were blessed with a son, Jack, in 1938. The family moved from Lolo to Arlee Jocko Valley in 1950 on a ranch. They later moved back to Lolo, where they built the MJB Trailer Court.
Jennie sold the trailer court, but helped manage it until she moved to Missoula. Mark and Jennie were married 58 years until Mark's passing in 1995. Jennie also worked at State Hardware, Mission Paint & Glass and Macy's in Missoula until her retirement.
Jennie is survived by her son, Jack; daughter-in-law, Jeanie; grandchildren, Randy (wife Renee) and Debra (husband Marty Green); five great-grandchildren, Justin, Brittany, Paul, Brian and Litahni; and one great-great-grandchild, Brooklyn.
Jennie loved fishing and gardening.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at Lolo Community Church with Pastor Jeff Boschmann officiating. Reception will follow the service. Burial will be at the Florence-Carlton Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of the donor's choosing.
