Be thankful for today because in one moment your entire life could change.
I would give anything for just one more moment with you.
The world lost a father, son and an amazing friend, Jonathan William Burt, on July 10, 2024.
He was born in Michigan on February 25th, 1968. Being born outside of Detroit forever made him a Detroit Red Wing and Detroit Lions fan. He used to say you cannot love them just when they are winning. He convinced his children they were the right and only teams.
He lived in Michigan until graduating from Carl Brablic High School in 1986. After graduating he joined the US Air Force. The Air Force and missel maintenance was what brought him to Montana, and he never left. He served a 4-year term with the Air Force in Great Falls, Montana.
In 1989 he met and married Chris Burt, his children's mother. The two moved to Missoula in 1992 to make their permanent home. They had two children together, Khayden in 1991 and Tyler in 1997. Life took them in different directions but 20 years together and their two children kept them friends always.
He loved spending his time outdoors fishing, camping, and boating. His passions were shared with his family, children, and friends. He enjoyed soccer in his younger years and all through high school. He had a love for life and the joy in it and those around him. Traveling was a favorite as long as home was not too many days away. He always said anything could be a competition and was always up for the challenge. Smiles and laughter always followed him even in his competitive nature.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #32 in Missoula Montana.
Survivors include two sons, Khayden Taylor, 32, of Boise, Idaho, Tyler Burt, 26, of Missoula, Montana, Chris Burt, mother of children, Missoula, Montana, and parents Kenneth and Martha Burt of Stevensville, Montana. He was preceded in death by his sister Michelle Kreuger.
