John W. Maricelli

John William Maricelli, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1932 to Jules and Cecile Maricelli and raised in Campti, La.

John graduated from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, La., with a bachelor's degree and was commissioned a 2nd Lt., and served two years active duty in the U.S. Army.

John worked at the Missoula Job Service for 33 years. Following his retirement he was very active in volunteering at the Missoula Food Bank. He also voluteered at the Missoula Aging Service. He had a special love of the Boston Red Sox and watched as many of their games as possible. He enjoyed having his grandchildren around him. As one of the grandsons mentioned, "He had the largest impact on our lives."

Survivors include his wife, Colleen; four children and their families, John David (Leslie), Suanne Maricelli, Jennifer Blackler and Rich (Jennifer), all from Missoula.

Funeral arrangements are being taken care of by Garden City Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Missoula at 10 a.m. Oct. 14, with Father Gary Reller officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Cremation has taken place.
