John Joseph Breidenbach Feb. 17, 1924–Nov. 12, 2013.
John was the eighth child born to John Bernard and Barbara (Grossman) Breidenbach in Augusta, MT. He graduated high school in Helena, served in the Army from 1943-46, and married Joan Dufner Sep. 3, 1949. They had 11 children before divorcing in 1981. John married Inez Lanning March 15, 2003.
After completing x-ray technician training at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls, John worked at Missoula General Hospital becoming Chief X-ray Technician. John also worked part-time at St. Patrick's Hospital and as a self-employed house painter. He retired from Missoula General Hospital in 1986, after 30 years, and continued painting houses.
A devout Catholic, and active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, John served as Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. His interests included dancing, travel, and photography.
Preceded in death by his parents and seven older brothers. John is survived by his wife, Inez; first wife, Joan; and their 11 children: Tom, Donna, Anne, Karen, Terri, Geri, Janice, Mike, Ken, Jim, and Patti. John has 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Vigil: Thurs., Nov. 21, 2013 Garden City Funeral Home 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass: Fri., Nov. 22, 2013 10:30 a.m. St. Francis Xavier Church, followed by reception in Reidy Hall at Church.
Burial: 1:30 p.m. St. Mary's Cemetery Annex.
