Obituary for Jody Jeannine Hunsucker

FLORENCE – Jody Jeannine Hunsucker, 37, of Florence passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013, after a 14-year battle with lupus, which resulted in a two-year battle with cancer. She was born on Jan. 3, 1976, in Cumberland, Md., to Shelia and Thomas Harman and was raised with two brothers, Tracy and Troy.

Jody graduated from Stevensville High School in 1993 and worked for Montana Rail Link. From high school on, she built a life with her high school sweetheart, Brent Hunsucker, and they were married on July 13, 2002, in Florence by the Bitterroot River. Together for 22 years, they started a business that has flourished and were blessed with a daughter, Jada Jeannine Hunsucker. As a family, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, being active in Jada's activities, and celebrating life with close friends.

Jody also took pleasure in scrapbooking, Bible studies, watching movies, coffee, being involved in her community, and simply making her friends smile. Jody's most treasured and honored roles in life were being a wife and mother.

Survivors include her husband, Brent and daughter Jada; her parents, Shelia and Tom Harman; two brothers, Troy and Tracy.

A celebration service of Jody's life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the Florence-Carlton Community Church. There will be a reception immediately following. In Jody's honor, please dress in bright, casual clothes. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lupus Foundation of America, Spur the Cancer Foundation, or Florence Coffee Co. Angel Foundation.
