Joan Augustine Combs

Joan A. Combs, 80, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Riverside Health Care of natural causes. Born on April 18, 1943, in Glendive, MT, Joan was the cherished daughter of August Neiffer and Erma Entzel. She was blessed to be raised by Arnold Peterson after her father’s passing.

She married Douglas Combs on June 29, 1963, in Missoula. 

Joan led a fulfilling life, finding joy in the little things and spreading her warmth to all those around her. Joan worked in a variety of careers but was most recently a dedicated clerk in the convenience store industry, always ready with a smile and a kind word for customers. Her friendly and caring nature made her loved and respected by her colleagues and customers alike.

Outside of work, Joan enjoyed indulging in her favorite pastimes. She had an appreciation for flowers and took great delight in solving puzzles, creating beautiful crafts, and competing in thrilling games of bingo. She also thrived as a member of Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. 

 Survivors include her husband Douglas, her daughters Kirsti (Steve) Brester and Kimberly (Matt) Beckstrom, her son Jason Combs, her sister Jeanie Peterson, as well as seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Garden City Funeral Home, followed by a small reception. Burial will then take place at 3:15 pm at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
