Jim Sevores

Jim Sevores passed away on May 24, 2013 at his home in Missoula, Montana.
Born in Seattle, Washington on April 6th, 1932, and moved at a young age with his family to Butte, Montana. There he met his wife of 57 years, Norma Richards.
After graduating from Butte High School in 1950, he received an honorable discharge after serving four years in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Returning to Montana, Jim and Norma raised a family of five surviving children; daughters Mary Poston (Doug) and Lisa McGrath (Charlie) of Missoula; sons, Jim Sevores (Chris), Dan Sevores (Karen) and Mike Sevores (Kari) and was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Jim had a tremendous career in the elevator industry. Starting with Otis Elevator Company in 1956 he soon decided to start his own company (Elevator Maintenance and Repair) along with his partner John Cote Sr. Their imaginative and enthusiastic approach to business helped grow the company until it was purchased by Montgomery Elevator Co. in 1972. Jim continued to work with Montgomery (now KONE Inc.) until 2012.
Jim's magnanimous personality brought joy to the lives of many people who will be saddened his passing. He will be greatly missed by his special friend Vicki and his constant companion Newman.
A viewing will be held 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29th, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, followed at 11:00 am by a funeral service with full military honors. A reception will follow at the funeral home in the community room.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be sent to Partners in Home Care of Missoula.
