Jerrie, 73, passed on Monday, June 1, 2015 at her home in Ninemile (Huson) after a four-year 10-month fight with cancer.
Jerrie was born in Glendive to Clyde and Mary Huribert on Oct. 22, 1941, and moved to the Missoula area a short time later. She graduated from Sentinel High School in 1959.
Jerrie mamed Norman Schweizer on Oct. 4, 1969, and they shared many wonderful adventures together. He was at her side as she passed on.
Jerrie had a great love for Norwegian Elkhounds. She bred, raised, showed and sold them for 49 years. She had one of the top Norwegian Elkhound blood lines in the country and sold them around the world. She was well known in the Norwegian Elkhound world.
Survivers include her husband, Norman, of Ninemile (Huson); her mother, Mary, of Missoula; one sister, Wendy McCarty (Randy) of Bozeman; and one niece, Jessie Wade (David) of Warrenton, Virginia.
Jerrie was cremated, and requested no memorial services be held. She would rather that you celebrate her life. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Montana Cancer Center, especially Dr. Sally Scott, St. Patrick Hospital staff and Partners in Home Care for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor Jerrie, contributions may be made to Partners in Home Care, 2687 Palmer St., Suite B, Missoula, MT 59808; or partnersinhomecare.org.
