Jeremy John Brown died unexpectedly in Kansas on January 26 at age 42. He was born July 20, 1979, to Charlie Brown and Renee (Brown) Ernst in Helena. He grew up in Missoula and immediately joined the Army upon graduation from high school. His final duty station was at Fort Riley in Manhattan, Kansas. Jeremy and his wife, Britni, were parents to three beloved children, Cierra (Jacob), Tristen and Isabelle.
Also deeply mourning his passing are his parents Charlie and Sue Brown of Missoula; sister Megan (Josh) Collins-Schaber; and other treasured family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jeremy was a SFC and decorated three-tour combat veteran, including Bosnia/Kosovo and two tours in Iraq. He served in the US Army for 17 years before being medically retired due to injuries sustained during his final deployment. We are proud of him and will always be so grateful to have had him in our lives. Words cannot express our sorrow in his passing. We love you forever our dear son and father.
Disbelief becomes my close companion, and anger follows in its wake. I answer the heroic question ‘Death, where is thy sting?’ with ‘it is here in my heart and mind and memories.
