Jeanne Wightman Soucie was born in Missoula on Sept. 29, 1925, to Clyde W. and Helen G. Wightman and died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital, where she worked as a registered nurse for 30 years. She had an idyllic childhood with her older sister Betty and her big brother Jack.
She graduated from St. Patrick School of Nursing. She married handsome Frenchman Joseph Soucie on June 25, 1948. They have seven children – Terri Caldwell, Kathy Soucie, Stacey Hubbel, Tina Morris, Lisa Roylance, Rick Soucie and Mike Soucie – as well as numerous nieces and nephews, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She began her second career as an artist and exhibited at many art shows and galleries.
Jeanne was loving, caring and devoted to her family. She loved to go camping. "Oh, Joe!"
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3201 Bancroft St., in Missoula.
