Jean Brown Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Edgewood Memory Care in Missoula.
She was born in New Richmond, Wis., at the family farm house on July 28, 1930, a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Brown. She was predeceased by her husband Wiley Jackson. Other family members that have passed on were brothers and their wives, Joe (Lorraine), Robert (Mary), Howard (Toni) and Miles Brown; brother-in-law John Kinne; and nephews Howard "Howie" Kinne and Tim Brown.
She worked many years at what was originally known as the First State Bank of Thompson Falls.
Surviving are her children, George M. Jackson of Missoula and Barbara J. Watson (Julian) of Leesville, S.C; grandchildren Rebecca W. Bertok (Steven) of Lexington, S.C., and Frank W. Jackson of Missoula; and great-granddaughter Marilyn K. Bertok of Lexington. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy B. Kinne of St. Paul, Minn.; sisters-in-law Betty Brown of St. Paul and Wanda Houghton of Los Angeles; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the excellent staff at Edgewood for their care of Jean during her last several years due to the ravages of dementia/Alzheimer's. The family would also like to thank the excellent staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice. They, as well, have been a blessing and comfort to Jean and her immediate family during this difficult process. There will be no services.
