Jason Matthias Rahmer, 37, of Missoula, passed away on Thursday November 10, 2016 at St. Patrick Hospital due to complications of cancer.
He was born on January 10, 1979 in Fond du Lac, WI to James and Barbara Rahmer. Jason grew up on a Dairy Farm in Malone, WI and enjoyed taking care of animals and spending his free time building snow forts, hay forts and little snow men with his brothers, sister, cousins and friends. He loved practical jokes. He enjoyed wrestling for New Holstein High School and loved freaking people out by eating chicken whole, bones included and not stretching before a match. He then would go out and win a match in less than a few minutes and go back to the bench for a nap. Jason loved hunting all types of animals and spending as much time outside as possible.
In April 2000 Jason went to work in Yellowstone National Park in the Employee Dining Room. While working in the park he met his future wife Amanda Rahmer. Jason and Amanda were married May 18, 2002 in Lolo, MT. In 2004 they moved to Alberton, MT where they had their first daughter Makiah in 2006. In 2007 Jason moved the family back to his hometown in Malone, WI to fulfill his lifelong dream of raising a family on a dairy farm. Jason really enjoyed working with family and being able to show his family the wonderful and hard life of raising animals. In 2009 they had their second daughter Elizabeth and in 2011 they moved back to Missoula, MT, where they have lived happily with the children ever since. Jason worked in the Oil Fields of North Dakota for 4 years during which time he found out that he had Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. He spent the next 3 years fighting to get rid of the cancer always with a smile on his face and love in his heart for all people he spent time with. He showed his family and friends strength and trust in God that has taught his family what true love really is. Jason was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He loved spending time with his children teaching them new things and learning new things from them. He loved wood working and building projects for his daughters with his most prized gift to his daughters a Doctor Who Tardis.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Levi Galligan, Grandmother Donna Galligan, Grandmother Irene Rahmer, Grandfather Joseph Rahmer and sister Jessica Rahmer Garcia.
