Obituary for Janice Leigh Howard

Janice Leigh Howard, 56, of Missoula passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the home she shared with her husband Keith Twingley.
Janice was born in Great Falls on December 7, 1958. At the age of 5, she moved to Choteau where she lived with her parents Donald and Olive Passmore. Summers were often spent with her grandparents in the mountains at the cabin they homesteaded. Those childhood memories remained dear to her heart and she affectionately wore her nickname "Queen of the Rocky Mountain Front".
Janice married Gary Howard and together they owned and operated the Sportsman's Bar in Alberton, Mt and Montana Music Rentals. After their divorce they continued to remain good friends.
Her big heart, along with her loving and caring nature led her to jobs in personal health care, both in nursing home venues as well private in-home health care. Relationships were so important to Janice and she maintained close friendships with many of her long-past co-workers.
In 1987 she met Keith and after a 14 year engagement, they tied the knot on January 17, 2001 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Over the years they enjoyed trips to the Oregon Coast, sailing at Flathead Lake, camping, backyard barbecues and holiday hosted dinners with friends. Lots of memories and forever friendships were formed at 120 Strand.
Janice was preceded in death by her brother Gene and her dear grandparents.
She is survived by her loving husband Keith of Missoula, her parents Donald and Olive Passmore, sister Cecile (Wayne) Haynes, brother Gary (Sherrel) Passmore, all of Choteau, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, she leaves Keith's mother Mildred Twingley and sisters, Gerry (Dave) Hanson and Kim (Devin) Garrity and their son.
Services will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 15th at Garden City Funeral Home, 1705 W. Broadway, Missoula, MT. Her ashes will be scattered at the homestead cabin at a later date.
