Jamie Phillips

November 15, 1962 — October 16, 2024

Jamie Catherine (Scoville) Phillips died on October 16th, 2024 in her hometown of Missoula, Montana, after a long illness. She was born in Great Falls, Montana on November 15th, 1962, and raised by James and Jacqueline Scoville of Missoula. She shared her childhood home with her brother Jimmy, and together they spent many days at the family cabin on Flathead Lake - memories she cherished.

Jamie attended Washington Elementary/Middle School, Sentinel High School, and the Missoula College - known at that time as the Missoula Vocational Technical Center, or Vo-Tech - graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Retail Merchandising in 1989.

Jamie wed Keoki LopezdeVictoria in 1980, and their daughter Regan was born soon thereafter. Although the couple divorced, they remained committed to Regan’s care and connected over the years.

Jamie met Steven Phillips in 1988, and they married in 1990 - together, Jamie and Steven raised sons Donovan & Devin and enjoyed many concerts and trips over 34 years of marriage.

Jamie enjoyed romping around Montana and raisin’ hell! She loved good - and loud! - music, classic cars, and a roaring bonfire. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her playful indulgence. Dear friends like Stephanie Salvino will remember her giant heart, huge smile, and arms that were always open for a hug. Jamie was a lifelong animal lover - a reflection of her wild and beautiful spirit.

Jamie was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Scoville, mother-in-law Peach Jenne, and brother-in-law Robert Dean Phillips. She is survived by her father James D. Scoville, brother James (Laura) E. Scoville, husband Steven Phillips, brother-in-law Michael “Buck” (Sarah) Hankel, children Regan Lopez-deVictoria and her spouse Zachary Cline, Steven (Donovan) Phillips and his partner Tess Broadwater, and Devin & Miranda Phillips, and step-son Sean Watson; her grandchildren Keoki, Jackie, Early, Karter, and Liam remember her fondly. Mom, we’ll love you always and forever.

Heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hestia advantage for their loving guidance and family-oriented care during Jamie’s final weeks.

Jamie’s friends & family are warmly invited to gather and celebrate her life! Memorial services will be held at Garden City Funeral Home on Monday, October 21st, from 3-4 PM; a brief viewing will be held just prior (2:30 PM) with a reception immediately following (4-6 PM). A Graveside Ceremony will take place at Missoula City Cemetery on Tuesday October 22nd, from 10-11 AM.

A Celebration of Life - tucked away in the woods, with loud music and a bonfire - is planned for Summer 2025.
