James Ferdinand Voll, 83 of Missoula, MT passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, August 11th 2024.
James was born at home in Carson, ND on April 15, 1941 to Elsie and Ferdinand Voll. He was the third child of four. He graduated from Carson High School where he was a member of the basketball and track team. He went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry from North Dakota State University where he was also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. Jim served in the North Dakota Air National Guard for seven years as a photographer, he was very proud that one of his photographs hung in the governor’s office in Bismark, ND.
On July 9, 1976 he married Patrica J. Kittelson in Beach, ND. The majority of their marriage was spent raising their family in Hulett, WY. Jim was the president at Hulett National Bank and Patti worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Crook County. After retirement Patti and Jim moved to Missoula, MT to enjoy their grandchildren.
Jim had a passion for ranching, raising good horses and cattle. While living in ND Jim enjoyed flying and often used his plane to fly over his ranch to check cows. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids watching their sports. He also enjoyed good music, dancing and hunting. As a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather family was everything. Anytime they could be together Jim was happy.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patti Voll, Missoula, two daughters and their families, Jodi Moeller, Spearfish SD, and Jessie Salter, Potomac MT, one son James C. Voll, Gillette WY, Sister LaRue Nelson, Redmond WA, two grandchildren Chase and Kaycee Salter, Potomac MT along with two Son-In-Laws, Jess Moeller and Nick Salter, as well as his two nieces and five nephews.
