James William Hartman, 24, of Missoula, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 12th.
He was born April 19, 1994 in Tacoma, WA to Blaise and Karen Hartman.
He moved to Missoula when he was six and attended Missoula County Public Schools, graduating from Sentinel High School in 2012. James was a student at the University of Montana at the time of his death.
James enjoyed spending time with his friends, riding his motorcycle, attending Griz games in Missoula and Bozeman, attending soccer games in Portland and Seattle with friends, and visiting Yellowstone (his favorite place).
James loved sports and was especially passionate about Seattle professional sports. He never lost faith in his beloved Mariners and was convinced this would be the year they returned to the postseason. James could always be found wearing his Mariners Spring Training jersey.
James loved a wide variety of music and attending concerts with friends and family, but most of all James loved his dog.
James was a wonderful son and brother, and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his Grandfather Bill Brinkman. Survivors include his parents, Blaise and Karen, and his sister Chrissy of Missoula; his Grandmother Jini Brinkman of Tacoma, WA; Grandparents John and Betty Hartman of Puyallup, WA; Uncle Rob (Joy) Brinkman and family of Tacoma WA; Kevin (Phyllis) Hartman of Bonner, MT; Ted (Ann) Hartman of Superior, MT; Sheri (Ron) Sprague of Puyallup WA; Kandi (Ed) Ganyon of Puyallup, WA; numerous cousins in Washington, Texas and Alaska; and hundreds of wonderful friends.
Memorial service will be Thursday, July 19th at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula. Reception to follow at the family home in Missoula.
