James Patrick De Minck

James Patrick De Minck passed away surrounded by his loved ones on August 14, 2022 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Jim was born on January 30, 1942 in Nampa, ID to Emil Charles De Minck and Regina Agens Usselman. Jim married the love of his life, Linda Aileen Stevens, on September 13, 1963 in Missoula, MT and they started a family shortly after. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary next month.

Jim started his career at Sheehan Majestic and held various positions throughout his career including owning and operating Valley Wholesale and most recently driving for Enterprise.

Jim's greatest passions in life were his family and friends. His generosity was endless; he was very selfless in helping others and didn't want people to know it. While Jim's hobbies were numerous, a few of his favorites included skiing with his sons, attending car shows, impromptu road trips that tended to extend well beyond the intended destination, weekly Friday nights out on the town with friends, and making people laugh with his jovial and wise-guy ways.

Jim loved the Lord and found ways to bring his faith into everyday activities.

He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Wayne (Melody), Jon, and Dave (Stacey), grandchildren Mitch, Brad, Elise, Brent, Logan, and great-granddaughter Lydia, his brother Chuck (Linda) Smith, sister-in-law Marleen De Minck, several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Ken and Mary Bauer. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gene De Minck.

Services will be held at First Christian Church on Wednesday, August 24th at 11am. Reception immediately following. It was Jim's wish that any donations made in his honor go to his church, listed below.
