I died on Monday, March 5, 2018, of highly unnatural causes at age 88. My beautiful wife and I came to Montana in 1956 from the U.S. Army to Jordan and then to Ryegate, and finally to the University faculty in 1964. I loved Montana.
Remembering the format of the usual obituary I have considered what accomplishments I might now list, but I can recall none except our children: Mary, Jim Jr. and Damon, all of whom seem bright, independent, moral and our great friends.
Cecelia and I have worked and traveled all over the world after retirement which has been wonderfully interesting, but I felt guilty having burned so much jet fuel. After the present gasoline world-honeymoon, future generations will surely curse our prolific waste of oil resources.
No ceremony is planned but a note addressed to 3710 American Way, Apt. 205 would be welcome. Loved you all.
A celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Springs, 3710 American Way.
