Jack McCoy

Jack was born May 3, 1959, the youngest of five children born to Bill and Angeline McCoy.

He grew up on the North Side of Missoula and attended Whittier Grade School and graduated from Hellgate High. He went to work at White Pine & Sash Co., where our father worked, and was employed there until the business closed. He then attended a technical school in Spokane and became an AutoCAD draftsman. As a draftsman, he worked for Edgell Construction and Custom Log Homes.

Jack loved many things including working with wood and collecting coins. He had a great love of God, making a journey with the Lord through a companionship with St. Francis Xavier Church and the Knights of Columbus, where he attained the 4th degree. At one point in this journey, he asked the Lord for a cross to bear, which he received, carrying this cross for most of 7 years. Complications from cancer took him on Monday of this week.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, very special aunts and uncles and his brother in law, Gary. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters; Julie, Bill III (wife Py Nang), Nancy and Bob (wife Diana); loving nieces and nephews and a few greats. Only one aunt and uncle remain from this once big family and many scattered cousins that were a huge part of a very happy childhood.

Lord, bless this next journey for Brother Jack!

A Rosary Service will be at St. Francis Xavier Church on Thursday, December 21, at 7pm. Mass will be at church on Friday, Dec. 22, at 10:30am, followed by a reception in Reidy Hall. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Annex. In Jack’s memory, memorial donations are suggested to St. Francis Xavier Parish or the Knights of Columbus.
