Irma Lorraine Knutson

Irma Lorraine Knutson passed away Feb 22, 2016 in Missoula, MT a few days after her 96th birthday. She was born Feb 19, 1920 in St. Paul, MN to Olaf and Olga Knutson. After graduating from high school in 1938 and college in 1940, she pursued a 35 year teaching career in the primary grades.

In 1946 she moved to Bainbridge Island, WA and later to Renton, WA. After retirement she moved to Polson, MT in 1983 and lived with her sister, Eunice, for the next 25 years. In 2009, she moved to the Pleasant View Assisted Living facility in Missoula, where she finished her days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and younger sister, Eunice. She is survived by her niece, Sue Gillie, of Salem, OR. Nephews Jim (Carla) Gillie of Puyallup, WA, Sam (Sachiko) Gillie of Honolulu, HI, and Jeff Gillie of Mesa, AZ. And also by 5 great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Thursday, March 3rd at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, 7405 Mullan Road, Missoula, MT with a reception to follow. Burial will be in Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, SeaTac, WA.
