Hulda Mae (Fuhrmann) Tade, 89, passed away in the presence of her loving family on April 22, 2017 in Missoula, MT.
The youngest of the large farming family of Elizabeth (Fauth) Fuhrmann and Peter Heinrich Fuhrmann, she was born on April 23,1927 on her family's homestead in northeastern Montana.
Her early life was spent on the farm surrounded by her large and extended family. She attended North Fuhrmann school with her siblings and cousins and attended Glasgow High School, graduating in 1944. Valuing higher education and the opportunities that arose from receiving it, she was a strong advocate of college education for her children.
Hulda loved music and dancing and shared her passion with her children by providing musical instruments of their choice and fundamental training. Additionally, in the days when more formal dancing was required, she taught her daughters to dance to polkas in the living room.
She also enjoyed the sociability of playing cards and a variety of games with family, including Canasta and Mexican Train Dominos. For most of her life she was an avid reader and shared this with her children.
Hulda had a strong work ethic, starting as a teenager in a drug store in Glasgow. She also worked for many years at Gordon's Foods where she met Edward Tade, Jr. They were married in 1970. In her late 40s, she reentered the work force with the Department of Motor Vehicles in Missoula and Great Falls, where she retired in 1993.
Throughout her life, Hulda found many opportunities to travel. Trips included those with her children to Seattle to visit her sister and family, with her sisters to Hawaii, and decades of yearly pilgrimages with her parents, sisters and nieces to Canistoda, SD. In the later 90s, she enjoyed snow-birding to Arizona with her beloved husband, Ed and his siblings. She documented all of her travels through photographs, which instilled the joy of photography in generations of her family.
Hulda was preceded in death by her devoted husband Ed, her parents, and all of her siblings.
Hulda is survived by her children; Lynn Wetterling; Shirley Aitken; Margaret (Sidney) Godolphin; Nancy Aitken-Nobles (Buddy Nobles); Larry R. (Simone) Tade; Lisa (Tom) Brieske; Larry E. (Bev) Tade; Jerry (Teresa) Tade; Debbie Tade, and Vicki (Sean) Beaulieu; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
