H. (Hilbert) Rae Larson, 91, of Missoula, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Patrick Hospital of natural causes.
He was born on March 29, 1924 to Axel and Elva Larson. He graduated from Missoula County High School. He had a lifetime career as a railroad engineer, retiring from the Burlington Northern Line. He was an avid golfer and had a passion for flying, having served as a P-38 pilot in WWII. He was a member of Elks BPOE.
He married Fay Albert of Alberton on October 10, 1964, who precedes him in death. Survivors include daughter, Robyn Larson Perry, Bend, OR, and son, Scott Larson , Missoula; Stepsons Mike Albert, Alberton, Dennis Albert, Anchorage, Alaska, and Jodi Albert, Kailua-Kona, HI; along with five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Interment will be at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Missoula. At Mr. Larson's request, no service will be held.
