MISSOULA - Homer D. Sickels, 92, of Missoula, passed away Sunday Feb. 8, 2009, at St. Patrick Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born near Wolf Point, November. 28, 1916 to Guy and Verga Sickels.

They then moved to the Bitterroot Valley, but when the war started they moved to Bremerton, Wash., where Homer worked in the Puget Sound Navy Yard. After the war, they moved to Missoula where they owned and operated several service stations, including Sickels Texaco at Broadway and Madison. In 1969, they built and operated the Crossroads Truck Center at the Wye until Homer sold it and retired in 1977.

Homer and Olive enjoyed many years traveling the country in their RVs. Homer also enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting and water skiing.

Homer was preceded in death by his wife Olive; granddaughter Shonda Eder; his parents, three sisters and two brothers.
