Obituary for Helen Menter

Helen Menter, 89, of Missoula passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her home.
She was born on June 3, 1925 in Couer d'Alene, Idaho to David and Anna Carrier. The family moved to Spokane, WA, where she attended grade and High School. Helen married Albert Effler in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1951. Helen married George Menter in 1952 and they were married for 51 years.
Helen loved to fish which she and George did almost every weekend. She loved to garden, growing flowers and taking care of her yard. Helen worked for the Missoula laundry and the University Food Service. Helen was wonderful to her elderly neighbors, cooking and taking them hot meals.
Preceding her in death was her daughter Jean Pacheco, husband George Menter, sisters; Rose, Jen, and her brother, David.
Survivors include her daughter, Ruth Ann (Les) Rancourt, of Green Valley, AZ, Three grandsons, Darin (Cris) Rancourt, Kirkland, WA, Dr. Jose Pacheco Jr., San Antonio, TX, and Domingo Pacheco, Philadelphia, PA, Son in law, Dr. Jose Pacheco, Sr., Springfield, MO, granddaughter, Stacey Rancourt, Brewster, NY, great grandsons; Taylor and Conner Rancourt, Kirkland, WA, her only surviving sibling, her brother, Arthur (Violet) Carrier, Spokane, WA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Also survivors sister-in-law and very special friend Margaret Renner of Laurel, MT.

Helen has been cremated under the care of Sunset Memorial Gardens and memorial graveside services will be announced at a later date.
