Helen Marie Heath, 83, of Missoula, passed away of natural causes on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in her home.
She was born July 18, 1931, in Great Falls to Rudolph and Levone Karlovich. She went to school until the age of 16 to work at her parent's restaurant and to take care of Grandma
On Jan. 25, 1948, she married her wonderful husband and the love of her life, Gordon Heath in Missoula. Helen worked at her parent's café, the L&R Café in Missoula and later for F&W Woolworth for 25 years until the store's closure. She continued working for the next 14 years, selling Tupperware.
Grandma was the life of the party; she was a sweet, caring and loveable woman who would do anything and everything for anyone. Her family meant the world to her and will remember her as a strong lady in every way. She loved keeping her house in immaculate condition, as well as decorating for the holidays. One of the most important things to her was the Woman's Club and the people that worked and attended there; it was her saving grace throughout all these years. Helen, you'll be missed but never forgotten!
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gordon; a daughter Sheila; granddaughter Shanie and sister Deloris Barkley. Her family includes a granddaughter Dawn Herbert of Missoula; four great-grandsons, Wyatt and Dalton Herbert of Missoula, Jesse and Trevor Padrotti of Missoula and brother Mike Karlovich of Great Falls.
Viewing will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. The services will be at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with entombment in Sunset's Mausoleum. Everyone is invited to the reception to follow in Sunset's Community Room to share some good food and good stories. To honor Helen's memory, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Woman's Club, in care of her granddaughter, Dawn Herbert.
