Harvey was born Oct. 5, 1925, at home in Hinckley, Minnesota. He was one of seven children born to Ora and Mary (Forncrook) Millhouse.
Harvey attended a one room schoolhouse and upon entering high school was the only junior so was given his senior courses and graduated at 17.
After turning legal age he entered the Army and served as a MP in occupied Okinawa, Japan, at the end of World War II. At the conclusion of the war he was honorably discharged.
In the '50s he was working as a machinist at General Mills in the Twin Cities. He met and married Lorraine Bourdeaux of Fridley, Minnesota. They moved to Montana in 1956. Harvey worked five jobs his first year in Montana, before hiring on with the fledging paper mill known as Waldorf Paper. Harvey spent 33 years at the paper mill, the last 20 as a Stationary Engineer firing No. 4 recovery boiler. He retired in 1990 and really enjoyed his retirement.
Harvey was a real people person, although he had many old time ideas. Once he met a person it didn't matter about race, color or gender. Harvey liked everybody. He really enjoyed conversing with everyone.
Harvey was an avid hunter and fisher and really enjoyed Montana. He shared his love of these activities with his family. Harvey had wild (pet) animals that visited him every day. He enjoyed seeing all the wildlife greatly.
Harvey is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Brant, Marijo (Bill) Kurkowski and Mae (Dave) Schultz, all of Minnesota; one brother Ernest Millhouse of Montana; three sons, Joseph (Vickie) Millhouse of Washington, Mark Millhouse of Montana and David (Juanita) Millhouse of Iowa.
One of Harvey's greatest joys was his grandchildren, Shane Millhouse, Ryan (Kelly) Millhouse and Siobhan (Eric) Johnson all of Washington. He also had four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Isaac Millhouse and Drew and Alessia Johnson.
Harvey has been cremated and wanted no service.
