Obituary for Harry R. Gage Sr.

– Our beloved father, Master Sgt. Harry R. Gage Sr., passed away peacefully with his kids surrounding him Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He was just nine days shy of his 76th birthday.

Dad was born April 7, 1940, to Ralph and Ruth Gage in Carson City, Nevada. He graduated from Redmond Union High School in 1958, then headed to San Antonio, Texas, to join the Air Force. While in the AF, Dad got to travel to many different countries. He chose to be a flight mechanic and there found his love for airplanes and flying. He served his country during the Vietnam War proudly and bravely, and when the war was over settled into married life with his first wife, Barbara Gage, and had two children, Harry Jr. and LeaAnne. After serving his country for 20 years, Dad retired from his beloved AF in Tucson, Arizona.

After retiring, Dad and family moved to Oregon and then to Alaska. While in Alaska, Barbara separated from Dad; later they divorced. In 1990, Dad moved to Missoula. He started going to Garden City Church; while attending there, he met a wonderful woman whom he married in 1999. Diana Oie brought with her five amazing children, Jason, Wally, Annika, Jeffrey and Katherina.

On April 3, 2000, Dad started his last job. He had so much fun while at Johnstone Supply. He enjoyed the interaction with their customers everyday and loved working with his co-workers.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers.

He is survived his wife, Diana Gage; children, son Harry Gage Jr., daughter LeaAnne and her husband Bobby Metcalf Jr.; step kids, sons Jason, Wally and his wife Morgan Oie, Jeffrey and daughters, Annika and her partner Jay Wells, and Katherina and her husband Esia Nobles; and seven grandchildren, one who has followed his footsteps into the Air Force, AB Anthony Priolo.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at Garden City Church, 1100 S. Higgins Ave. Officiating will be his longtime friend, Bob Womack. Reception to follow. We will be giving Dad a full Military Honors service at the Veterans Cemetery, 1911 Tower St., promptly at noon.

Honorary pallbearers will be his brother, Marvin Gage; best friend, Bob Womack; nephew, Rodney Gage; son, Harry Gage Jr.; nephew, Daniel Gage; son-in-law, Bobby Metcalf Jr.; stepson, Wally Oie; stepson, Jeffrey Oie; grandson, Michael Gage; and grandson, AB Anthony Priolo.
