Harry Brewer

April 13, 1956 — November 1, 2024

Missoula - Harry C Brewer, 68 years young, passed away Friday, November 1st at home. His loving wife was holding his hand, and his older brother (Dennis) and lifelong friend Tommy Talarico were also there beside him helping him gain his wings. The love these three have for Dad is a love you can only dream of. Dad fought like a warrior and gave 110% for two and a half long years.

He was born on April 13, 1956, to Marilyn Hege and Jesse "Jack" Brewer. He was one of nine siblings. He loved them all dearly. Dad would tell us, "With that many siblings, you have to be tough;" and tough he was. He was our "Superman." Dad was the toughest man we knew. He could do and handle anything. We three girls and Mom knew we were safe because Dad was there.

On February 25, 1979, he married Kelly Sweeney (Mom). She was the love of his life and still is. They welcomed their oldest daughter to the world, Nicole Fay. He loved being called "Dad" and he wore the name with pride. Three years later they had their second daughter, Amber Lynn. Now, Dad wasn't quite sure about the idea of having two little girls; he was pretty outnumbered. He made us the center of his world. Two years later, Mom and Dad had the youngest of us girls, Sara Mary Grace. We all had him wrapped around our little fingers. All of us girls were Dad's universe. Everything he did revolved around family. We were taught at a young age "family is everything, you don't ever turn your back on family. "

Our Dad was the best dad in the world. He never left us girls out of anything. Dad took us hunting, fishing, and camping, and even taught us to drive. He had the patience of a saint. If we three girls ever needed anything or even an alibi Dad was right there. No questions asked, in his eyes we were angels and did no wrong. He loved my Mom and all of us with his whole heart and soul.

Dad worked hard to make sure we were all taken care of. He started at City Disposal in 1980. He loved to go to work and joke around with his co-workers or just visit with them. Dad loved to visit, he was a talker, and he never met a stranger. In 2007 he retired from BFI. Dad met his lifelong friend Tom Talarico while working there. It didn't take long before Tom, his wife Denise (Margo), and their children had been adopted by the Brewer family. He loved this family so much.

After retiring Dad spent a lot of time with family. Mom and Dad traveled a lot. Dad loved to tell stories of their travels. I think one of his favorites was Ecuador. They've gone to so many places and Dad enjoyed every second.

Dad also spent a lot of his time doing what made him feel good; helping others. It didn't matter what they needed if he couldn't help he'd find somebody that could. He had a heart of gold. Dad's most favorite thing in the whole world was getting to spend time with his grandkids. He would do anything for these kids. They all were his pride and joy.

During Dad's long journey with his illness, everybody got to see the side of Dad our family knew. Not the rough, tough guy, but the loving, tender-hearted man who put everybody before himself. He was the most loving, strong, bravest, amazing man alive. He was loved by many.

Our family would like to thank Dad's hospice team from Bigsky Hospice. They were great with Dad. Thank you, Matt Heiner and his whole family: they have been there for us from day one. Dad was blessed to have them. We would also like to thank everybody who made Dad's last weeks wonderful for him. He loved visiting you all. The biggest thank you of all; words can't even do it. A huge heartfelt thank you to Uncle Dennis and Tom Talarico. These two stayed by Dad's side and never left. They didn't leave until they knew we were ok. They took such good care of not only Dad but Mom too. They made sure Dad stayed comfortable and comforted us girls while doing this. They helped our family a ton. We love you!

Dad is survived by his wife: Kelly Brewer, children: Nikki (Boe) Billingsley, Amber (Jesse) Marin, Sara (Mike AKA Dad) Thomas, grandkids: Tyler Brewer, Kylee, Shaun, and Piper Billingsley, Wyatt Marin, Macee Thomas, Cassidy (Cody) Taylor, great-grandson: Emmett Taylor, siblings: Dennis (Marie) Newman, Mary (Shorty) Tripp, Ed ( Shannon) Brewer, Sally ( Donnie) Hathaway, Cindy (Scott) Stephens, Jim (Julie) Brewer.

He is proceeded in death by: his mom Marilyn Hege, father Jesse "Jack" Brewer, step-father Phil Hege, brothers Jesse and Jack Brewer, mother and father-in-law Fay and Mick Sweeney, nephew Adam and he's finally holding his grandson Blake Marin in his arms once again. He's got some other grandbabies up there that were too pure for Earth as well; Dad is busy.

Well Dad, this isn't good bye, it's see ya’ later. You were an amazing dad, grandpa, and husband, but an even more amazing person. This world was much brighter with you in it. Thank you for teaching us how to love. You are truly loved and missed. Please be free now Dad. Catch some big fish with little guy, get Adam an ice cream, hug your mom and brothers tight, and just don't forget to visit us now and then. Your job is done here now be free to walk and run once again. You did a great job. Love you to the moon and back.
