Gwen G. Wood

MISSOULAâ�,��**– Gwen G. Wood, 88, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Gwen was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Minneapolis, where she was raised. She married Bob Wood on June 5, 1947, and was married just short of 60 years. Gwen was a professional homemaker and raised her daughters. Her volunteer work included 30 years with the Girl Scouts, the Raggedy Anns Chapter of the Minneapolis Children's Hospital and RSVP in Missoula. She loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors.

She had a lifelong interest in learning and attended many Elderhostel and MOLLI classes.

Gwen was preceded in death by her husband and brother. She is survived by daughters Vicki Chouinard (Lou) of Minneapolis and Kristen Wood (Vern Argo) of Missoula. Other significant people in Gwen's life include Rajiv Dhital, J. Stanley Rhine, Jack and David Burton, Mary O'Connell, Mary Ann Mancini and her roommate and faithful dog, Kelly.

A memorial service and interment will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery with a reception to follow at Paradise Falls from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wear purple in honor of Gwen.
