Loving wife, mother and friend, Janet Dewald, 86, of Alberton, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at home with her family by her side.
She was born April 23, 1928, in Missoula to John L. and Grace A.Vickers. She went to school in Missoula and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1945.
On February 15, 1948 she married Darrel W. Dewald from Alberton. They started their life together in Alberton, moved to Spokane for a few years then came back to Alberton where they continued their lives with their family and friends.
Janet worked as a Postal Clerk, Assistant Cook at the Alberton Public School and Election Day Judge for many years. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and friend.
She loved sitting in reading and doing crossword puzzles every day. She was a member of the Alberton United Methodist Church and the Alberton Senior Citizens. Both held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed the time spent with so many friends.
Janet is survived by her husband of 66 years, Darrel; son Bill of Hermiston, OR, son Tim and his wife Susy of Hermiston, OR; daughter Gina, of Clarkston, WA; three grandsons, Steve, Nate and Brian; brother, John Leroy Vickers and spouse of MN;
She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen; sister, Verona Lee McCord and her parents.
She believed in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the beauty and peace that she knew awaited her. She is now safe and secure with her Savior. Love is what she gave and what she leaves behind.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
