Gloria Rae Jones passed away peacefully at her home in Thursday May 10, 2018 surrounded by family. Born on November 2nd, 1942 in Portland, Oregon to George and Sophie Cameron. Gloria was the second of four daughters. She was raised in Polson Montana.
After graduating High School, Gloria met her first husband Frank Cooney while they were both working at Safeway. Together they had two children, Keith and Gregg. They lived in Missoula and Yakima Wa.
After their divorce, Gloria and the boys moved back to Polson where she met the love of her life, Bill Jones. After a whirlwind romance of six days they were married and moved to Missoula. In 1974 they had another son, Brian. In Missoula they purchased Curley’s Tavern, which they owned and operated for 41 years.
Gloria was well known in Missoula for her cooking and her wonderful soups at Curley’s. Her most famous was her chicken bisque soup Gloria will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Gloria is survived by her three sons, Keith (Suzie) Cooney of Lynwood WA. Gregg (Caryn) Cooney of Missoula, Mt. And Brian Jones of Missoula, Mt. Grandchildren Sheryl, Shannon, Shaun, Maddisyn, and Bryson and great grandchildren. Also three sisters Marilyn Jones of Belgrade Mt. Judy Johnson, and Debbie Lynch both of Spokane WA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Sophie, her first husband Frank and husband Cloyde “Bill” Jones
A Memorial mass will be held at St. Anthony Parish in Missoula on Saturday, June 2nd at 10:30 a.m. A graveside will be held on Monday, June 4 at ______. Arrangements are in the care of Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula.
