Glenn Jay Nelson passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, in his sleep at home with his children in attendance. Glenn was born Feb. 10, 1955, in Spokane to Daryl and Ethel Nelson.
Glenn, also known as Squeek, grew up in Spokane with five siblings. He attended Rogers High School where he played football and wrestled. After graduating, Glenn attended North Idaho Junior College with a wrestling scholarship followed by the University of Montana where he also wrestled.
Glenn remained active in sports outside of school and began playing rugby for the Missoula Maggots. He also bowled and golfed, and began playing softball which he continued to enjoy throughout his life. Glenn also realized his dream of coaching high school wrestling at Frenchtown. He worked a variety of jobs over the years the last of which was at Canyon River Golf Course where he was able to enjoy his love of golf.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brothers, George, Charles, Donald and Michael and sister Julie as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by three children Justin, Jordan and Morgan, whom he thought the world of and loved dearly.
Squeek was a good-hearted guy who liked to have fun and was always on a mission to make people laugh.
We will be celebrating and remembering Squeek on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. at the American Legion Hall with a potluck. Bring a dish if you would like and a story. Donations will be gratefully appreciated to help the kids with expenses.
