– Jerry Klaudt, 78, passed away at his home in Missoula on March 22, 2017.
Born in Linton, North Dakota (Oct. 19, 1938), he spent most of his life in or near Missoula. A graduate of Arlee High School, after college Jerry and his wife Ella Mae embraced pastoral ministry there in Arlee, then in Chehalis, WA and in Missoula. Returning to the building industry in his mid-30’s, the relationships from those ministry years remained rich, and he carried always a heart for sharing Jesus Christ.
Jerry enjoyed finishing a project well, taking proper care of his tools, sharing meat from the grill with others in their home, enjoyed serving & teaching God’s Word through the Missoula Alliance Church, texting his grandchildren, leaving his imprint, and praying over individuals in any situation.
Ella Mae and their children (Larry, Lois, Les) receive from the Lord the gift of these nineteen additional years this side of open-heart surgery. In Jerry’s words just a few weeks ago, “Do not think that some tragic event has overtaken me; this is not a tragedy, but a victory.” Jerry was ready to go, spoke freely of seeing Jesus face to face. To a young child recently visiting his home, he leaned close, eye to eye, and said, “Listen: this outward man is perishing, but the inward man is being renewed day by day.”
Our celebration of his life takes place Saturday, April 1, 10:00 a.m. at Missoula Alliance Church (live-streaming at macmissoula.com/live) and you are welcome to join us (100 East Foss Court, 59803). In lieu of gifts & flowers, donations may be directed to “Missoula Alliance missions in honor of Jerry Klaudt.”
