Gerald “Gerry” Arthur Gill, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023 at his home in Missoula with his family by his side. Gerry will be remembered as a kind, caring, patient and intelligent man with strong spirit and soft heart.
Gerry was born February 18, 1938, in Seattle, Washington to Sidney and Florence Gill. After graduating from high school his family moved to California. Gerry graduated from San Jose College with a Bachelor of Science and subsequently joined and honorably served in the US Army. Upon his discharge Gerry pursued his education in engineering and completed his Master’s in Business Administration at Pepperdine University. Gerry went on to work for Hughes Air Craft before finishing his career with 30 years at BAE (formerly Lear).
In 1988, Gerry married the former Beata Hefler. They joined their two families, his daughter Stacy with Beata’s children Brent and Rori, and spent 35 loving years together. Throughout his life Gerry had many passions, most notably his love for God. He led many lives to the Lord and taught Bible classes through work and home groups. His love for his family brought him great joy and happiness. Gerry loved working on classic cars. He restored, customized, and painted over 30 cars to showroom perfection. Gerry and Beata were active members of Christian Life Center in Missoula. They loved to travel together and explore our beautiful world. Over the years they travelled to several islands and throughout Europe. They were also able to cover much of North America, visiting nearly every state. Many of their adventures included enjoying the outdoors, hiking, and camping.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Beata Gill; devoted children: Brent (Andrea) Gyuricza, Stacy (Niall) Heard and Rori (Tino) Contreras; cherished grandchildren: Daniel Guyricza, Emerald (Tony) Buzzell, Jeremiah “JJ” (Lyndria) Gyuricza, Skyler and Gabriel Contreras; beloved great-grandchildren: Everly, Jeremiah Jr, and Zion; and a host of extended family and friends.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Florence Gill and his sister Carol.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his caregivers Shulie, Laura, Leslie, Kimberly, and Jodie.
A memorial will be held Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Christian Life Center, Missoula. An inurnment with honors will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 at 1:30 pm at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery, Missoula.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Gerry's name may be made to City Life Community Center, Missoula.
