George Charles Wayne, of Seeley Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014. He was born July 31, 1931, in Craigmont, Idaho, to Hayes and Frances Wayne.
After graduating from Winchester High School in 1949, he served in the Army from 1952 to 1953.
George married Lucille White in 1951. She preceded him in death in 1981. In 1982, George married Bonnie Yarnell.
George went into the ministry in 1955, ordained in the Pentecostal Church of God. Throughout his ministry, he pastored in Kamiah, Idaho; Orofino, Idaho; Thompson Falls; Havre; Medford, Oregon; and Clarkston, Washington. He also served as district bishop of the Yellowstone District Pentecostal Church of God for 10 years.
After retirement, Bonnie and George served as interim pastors and ministered in retirement communities in Montana, moving to Seeley Lake in 2010.
George is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his sister, Kay Parker; five children, Angela Hisey, Sherrie Wrenchey, Paul Yarnell, Gary Wayne and Phil Yarnell; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayes and Francis Wayne; and his sister, Emily Wayne.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Faith Chapel in Seeley Lake
