George Eugene Pfau

September 28, 1936 — April 13, 2021

George Eugene Pfau, 84, of Missoula, Montana, passed away on April 13, 2021 with family by his side. He was born to parents George H. and Rose Pfau on September 28, 1936 in Missoula. He was the oldest of five children.

George grew up in Stevensville helping his dad on the dairy farm, often doing chores early in the morning before getting on the school bus. He graduated from Stevensville High School in 1954 and married Verna Marie Roark in December 1955. They raised four children together.

George worked in radio as an announcer and especially enjoyed broadcasting high school sports games. Later he was a field manager for GW Sugar Company and a State Farm insurance representative. As he got older he kept himself busy with various other jobs.

George enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing, music and a good game of pinnacle or cribbage. He was an avid fan of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and his wish was to see them take the national title. But more than anything, George loved being around people, especially his family.

George was predeceased by his parents George H. and Rose Pfau, brother Jack Pfau and brother-in-law, Mike Ralls. He is survived by his children Brad Pfau (Ann), Renae Bonander (Cal), Valerie Schmidt (Don) and Wendy Bouma (Gresham); 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Geraldine Hill, Mary Ralls, Jim Pfau (Patricia), sister-in-law, Linda Pfau and numerous nieces and nephews.

George touched the lives of many and will be missed!
