We are devastated by the unexpected loss of our son, brother, uncle and friend, who departed this world on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. His amazing spirit will be with us always until we join him in our Father's house for eternity.
George Lange was born to Guenther and Eugenia Lange on April 12, 1962, in Boulder, Colo. He was later joined by his siblings Hans, Kurt and Linda. The Lange family moved to Montana in 1974. George attended grade school in Lolo, and high school at Loyola and Big Sky in Missoula.
George grew up enjoying snowmobiling, hunting, fishing and operating most anything with a motor. His early days after high school were spent in the woods logging. He acquired his first log truck at a young age and the love for the woods never left him. Later, George excelled at heavy equipment operation, working on big construction jobs in Arizona and Montana. Most recently, George was in the materials hauling and excavation business locally and in eastern Montana.
George had a heart of gold and a personality larger than life. He made friends everywhere he went. His outgoing nature, big smile and bold laughter made a lasting impression on those who knew him. He was "the cool uncle" who will always be remembered by his nephew, nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
George is survived by his parents, Guenther and Eugenia; brother, Hans (Brenda); brother, Kurt (BJ, Billy, Georgia); sister, Linda (Gene Konecny); nieces, Mandy (Lee Burns, Jameson), Michelle (Jared Beaudin, Naiya, Asher, Taevyn, Nekoda, Matthias), Destinee Konecny, Anndreya Konecny, Brielynna Lange; and nephew, Hans Lange.
Even through sickness taking over his body, George's soul shone bright. His passing has left a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled. We love you, George, and will miss you until we meet again.
We will gather to celebrate George's life with a service and reception at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at Lolo Community Church, 11897 Lewis Clark Drive, Lolo.
