"I am going to live until I die".
True to his words, George made his exit from this world on Thursday, April 10, 2014, leaving us all bewildered and with saddened hearts.
George was born in Hamilton on May 14, 1962, a day after his dad's birthday. Proud parents George and Dolly Fifield gave their only son unconditional love and his father's namesake.
George's early years were spent on the Northside of Missoula until the early 1970s when his family relocated to Clinton. It was there that he spent his childhood hours, finding friends and mischievous teenage ventures.
Always looking for adventure, he traveled to Colorado. It was in 1982 that he met and married the love of his life, Nina Jo Moore. George brought his young bride back to Montana. George was blessed with two daughters, Christina and Shay/Shannon. George was also fortunate to be a grandpa, to Bubba Dog/Austin Sander, Addison, Peyton and soon to be Rykker Jessop.
George was a man of amazing work ethic and spirit. He worked in the logging industry for the better part of his life. Hanging up his boots 14 years ago, he became a roofer. Not always choosing the easiest professions, George gave everything he had right to the end.
George loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family and the many special friends he acquired throughout his life. George loved fishing and camping on the waters of Montana. He was a loyal fan of the Montana Grizzlies and the Green Bay Packers, a love that he passed onto his grandson. He loved telling jokes, visiting with his friends and family, eating Nina's cooking, playing pool with his buddies and having a cold beer.
We will have a celebration of George's life May 17. Further times and locations will be forthcoming. George, you were loved and will be missed. Until we see you again … cheers!
