MISSOULA - Gene Allen Ellis, 45, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home of natural causes.
Allen was born September. 2, 1963, in Missoula, to Gene and Sheila Ellis. The first of their three children, he spent his childhood years bouncing around the northside of Missoula.
The epilepsy that would eventually claim his life first started showing its signs during his teenage years. This is also when he met the friends that would eventually become his extended second family fondly known as the Pig Dogs.
He enjoyed most sports, especially fast-pitch softball and basketball until the disease made it too difficult to continue. He was a lifelong fan of movies and music and a regular at Grizzly football games.
Allen will be missed for his quick wit, loyal friendship and his ability to discuss the history and credibility of all things Bigfoot.
He is preceded in death by his little buddy Ike.
He will be missed by his mother Sheila; brother Jerry and family; sisters Sherry and Kelly and families; nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins; and especially his friend Jill; and all the Pig Dogs from as far away as Alaska.
A remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at the Orchard Homes Country Life Club, 2537 S. Third St. W.
