– Gary Lee Hubbard, 65, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his residence in Missoula. He was born on Dec. 18, 1947, in Glendive, the son of Donald F. and Minnie Mae (Winchel) Hubbard.
He attended schools in Missoula and graduated from Missoula County High School.
Gary's smile said it all. He truly liked everyone he met. He had a great way of remembering names. Gary was employed by his parents at the Trade Winds Motel. He loved all kinds of sports and was very instrumental in the organization of the YMCA boys' basketball program. Gary coached Little Grizzly Football and Little League baseball. When he wasn't driving his red Mustang around, he loved to keep score of the Yankees baseball games, his main hobby. He was a longtime member of the YMCA.
Gary will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Debra Hubbard.
He is survived by his siblings, Donna Mae Vemm and husband Bob, Donald D. Hubbard, Timothy Hubbard and wife Rosemary and Sandra Brosious and husband Joe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass for Gary will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
