Gary Lee Frazer

November 16, 1955 — April 21, 2022

After enjoying a wonderful day, Gary Lee Frazer, 66, of Missoula, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday evening, April 21, 2022 at home.

He was born on Nov. 16, 1955, in Missoula, to George and Ruth Frazer. Growing up, he lived with his parents and sister in a house his Dad built on Crestline St. In high school, they moved to a house closer in town, where he lived until he met his wife. He graduated from Sentinel High School, then went on to study at the University of Montana and earned two Bachelor degrees in English & History, and a Masters in History. He spent some time traveling overseas, but loved being home in Montana. For a short time, he moved to Utah for work, where he met his soulmate, Linda. They fell in love, and he brought her, and her two young kids back to Missoula. After a year of dating, he proposed to her on the Higgins bridge. A few years into their marriage, they had a daughter, and together, they raised three beautiful children, and are grandparents to nine grandchildren.

Gary loved playing guitar, building model tanks, and reading his scriptures and every other book he could get his hands on. He loved being outside in the sunshine and going on walks. He enjoyed listening to peaceful music, old rock, and more recently, country. He also enjoyed watching movies and funny tv shows with his family, and sharing his favorite jokes with everyone. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

Gary was a very kind-hearted, loving, and gentle soul. He was soft spoken, but his words were powerful, filled with the kind of wisdom that only comes from years and years of study and life. He guided his family through example, by living the gospel in his daily life. He had a special gift of effortlessly making people laugh with a single sentence. He was a hard worker, always keeping everything running smoothly and keeping his surroundings organized, including around the yard.

He lived for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Linda, (Missoula); his son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Brittany Hixson and their five kids, (Stevensville); his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Kyle Paige and their three kids, (Arizona); his daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Rio Moura and their daughter, (Arkansas); and his sister, Shirley, (Missoula).

Services to celebrate and remember Gary will be held on Saturday, Apr. 30th at 10:30 A.M., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3201 Bancroft St., Missoula, MT 59801.
