Gary Dean Dockter, born on June 18, 1956 in Bismarck, ND to George and Ida Dockter passed away on May 23'', 2015 at his home in St. Regis.
Gary attended school in Bismarck, Mandan, Billings, and Frenchtown. In 1972, Gary moved with his mother and siblings to St. Regis.
Gary worked for Northwest Salvage, Managhan Logging, Schobers Towing, Bailey Logging, and Varco Logging before starting his own logging business, Dockter Brothers Logging with his brother Jerry. Gary was an active and longtime member of the St. Regis Volunteer Fire Department and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Gary loved the great outdoors, whether he was working on equipment or hunting with his brothers, nephews, nieces, and friends. Gary and Jerry loved traveling to Bismarck to go bird hunting with their brother Ronnie (Doc) often taking Jerad, Tim, and friend Don.
Gary was a big teddy bear and loved by many. Gary's greatest joy was being an uncle to his niece's and nephew's, whether it was hunting, working on derby cars, playing cards, board games, or just a conversation on the phone. Gary loved them and they loved him.
Gary is survived by: Brother Jerry (Tina) of St. Regis; Brother Dan Dockter of Fargo, ND; Sister Diane Walter of Missoula; sister Shirley (Ben) Sauter of Lolo; sister-in-law Connie Dockter of Menoken, ND, and many nieces and nephews.
