Frederick Llewellyn Scamman

Frederick Llewellyn Scamman, 94, of Missoula, passed at his residence in Missoula on May 1, 2015.
Fred was born in Haverhill, Mass., on Sept. 4, 1920 and grew up in Waltham, Mass. during the depression. He served four years in the U.S. Army serving time in Italy, Sicily, and Africa. Upon returning to Massachusetts he married Edith Mansfield on January 27, 1946. After retiring, he and Edith moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and then to Missoula, MT on Thanksgiving Day 1996. Fred enjoyed a glass of bourbon every afternoon, fried clams and his New England sports teams.
Survivors include his children; Andrea Gilchrist and her husband Jay, of Milford, Mass., Karen Keating and her husband, Wayne, of Missoula, Craig and his wife Mary, of Wilmington, Mass., Lisa MacNeill and her husband Steven of Downingtown, PA, his sister, Phyllis MacDougal, seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula. Condolences for the family may be left at www.missoulafuneralhomes.com
