Frank "David" Heston has passed on to be with his Lord. Dave was raised in Butte, Montana. He fondly remembered his early and teen years in Butte. As a youngster, he worked for his parents in the Main Rexall Drug Store located at 1 West Park. Dave had great respect for his parents, but remembered the limits that were part of his upbringing. Many of his memories took place in the Georgetown Lake area, boating, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. He spent a lot of time with his maternal grandparents who lived in Butte, and learned to fly fish with his grandfather on Rock Creek near Phillipsburg.
Dave attended McKinley Grade School and Butte High School. While in high school, he earned letters in both football and basketball. He graduated high school in 1960, and from the Pharmacy School at the University of Montana in 1965. Dave completed a one year internship at his parent's pharmacy in Butte, and in 1966, he obtained his Registered Pharmacist license. While attending the University of Montana, Dave met his loving wife, Sandra Kennis, of Butte, and in September 1964, they were wed.
When Dave finished his internship, he received a draft notice, and enlisted in the Navy. He completed boot camp and Hospital Corpsman School in San Diego. He later was commissioned as a Lieutenant and worked as a Navy Hospital Pharmacist. While stationed in Japan, he was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Wendy Lee. He retired from the Navy as a Captain in 1989, and settled in Florence. He worked at Community Hospital, Shopko and Ridgeway Pharmacies. Dave was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, the Western Montana Military Officers Association, and the Military Officers Association of America.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sandy of Florence; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Shay Embleton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and granddaughters Amanda Jo, Samantha Lee, and Lori JoLee Embleton, and numerous cousins.
Dave was a wonderful and loving husband, a devoted father, and grandfather. He was a very considerate and thoughtful friend to all who knew him. He was a conscientious pharmacist who prided himself in going the extra mile for his patients. Dave loved pharmacy work and thoroughly enjoyed educating his patients and teaching pharmacy concepts to pharmacy students and those individuals wishing to gain Pharmacy Technician status. Dave loved Montana and he developed a great rapport with people from around the state. He had a wonderful life and will be greatly missed.
