Finn Ward departed this life on February 26, 2013. His indomitable spirit has taken him through an adventurous life; Finn has always been strong & courageous, and now he is at peace.
Finn was born on August 20th, 1990 in Missoula Montana and welcomed into the loving arms of his parents, Pam Truty Ward and Edmund Ward. Both parents enjoyed incredible adventures in the outdoors with their son. As a youngster, Finn was an excellent freestyle skier, rock climber, and kayaker who thrived in tough whitewater. At age 10 he wanted to start surfing, so he spent several spring breaks and summer weeks on the West Coast. Finn enjoyed surfing, and the magical nights camping on the beaches of California and Baja Mexico.
As a young child Finn had a special heart for animals and all living creatures, especially dogs. His had a kind and gentle way, which would always support the under-dog.
Finn attended Sussex School, where he loved learning and exploring new activities like basketball and drumming. He also played YMCA soccer and Little Griz Football. Later he attended Hellgate High School, where he launched the next level of his participation in outdoor sports. He was extremely committed to kayaking and preparing for the Junior Olympics in Freestyle Skiing.
Finn loved nothing better than the great outdoors, and sharing it with friends. He lived life to the fullest and took us all on a wild ride. Finn was compassionate, kind and generous and lit up the room with his smile. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. And all who came in contact with Finn loved him, and were inspired by his zest for life. He was always ready for a fun adventure.
Finn had placed his faith in the hands of God. Thank you, Finn for being such an example of faithful endurance! We'll see you again some day. You will always be missed. â,¨
