Eva Soleil Masin Prather, 43, will be remembered for her kind heart, her open soul, and her honest mind. Eva was born in Priest River, Idaho where she was raised by her parents, Laura Masin and Daniel Clark, to appreciate the natural world, art, learning, and self-sufficiency. Eva graduated from Sandpoint High School and went on to complete an undergraduate degree at Evergreen State College and a Master of Science degree at the University of Montana. Eva also studied briefly at the American Eurythmy School and spent numerous years working seasonally for the US Forest Service throughout the Mountain West before settling in Montana. In addition to continuing her career in public service, Eva started Greenblade Farm in St. Ignatius and was a founding member of the Triple Divide Seed Cooperative.
Eva maintained a strong spiritual life and a commitment to following her soul’s path, which led her to combine activism, art, self-reliance, and time spent with plants and the outdoors. Her travels took her across the country from Alaska to upstate New York, and from South America to Ireland. Eva cherished the overlooked and treasured her children above all else. Eva valued quiet solace and intimate conversations while silently struggling with her own mental health. She was a dedicated friend and provided support for so many but ultimately did not find peace for herself despite being loved by her family, friends, and colleagues.
Eva is survived by her mother and father, her two brothers and two sisters-in-law, her half-sister and two half-brothers, 2 nephews and 1 niece, her husband, and her two children.
