Ethel E. Ungaretti, 100, of Missoula and Anaconda passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017, in Missoula at St. Patrick Hospital.
She was born on September 18, 1916, in Anaconda to Luigi and Anita Menicucci. She was the oldest of three children. She also nursed in Chico, California and Anaconda.
On September 2, 1944 she married her high school sweetheart Rudy Ungaretti in Chico, California. They were married 57 years before Rudy passed away in 2002. They were blessed with three daughters, MaryJean, Marlene, and Julie Ann.
Ethel was the oldest member of the St. Theresa Circle of the Daughters of Isabella and a member of the Anaconda Catholic Community. She loved to crochet, knit, and do crafts of any kind. She loved cooking, baking and eating. She also had a beautiful, well cared for, perennial garden. Ethel was a very giving, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rudy; daughter Julie Ann; brothers Louis(Virginia), Geno(Evie); sister-in-law Inez(Nello) Puccinelli; brother-in-law Hugo Ungaretti; and many beloved aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins. She was the last of a great generation!

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Riverside Health Care, where she had lived for the last 2 years, especially Autumn, Hayley, Bobbie, Betsy and Mike. Mom was always grateful for their kind attention.
No services will be held at this time per Ethel’s request. Graveside services will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Anaconda, MT at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.
We miss and love you, Mom!
